Have you heard this? Facebook is officially testing six new emojis’ in Spain and Ireland to give users an alternate way to express their emotions on posts.
Are they going to work?
Yes, they will, think about the facebook posts, where you simply can’t react with a ‘Like’.
A person being stressed about his job or talking about a jerk who stole her phone at party last night, ‘liking’ those posts won’t look good unless you take out time and comment.
What are these new emojis going under testing?
Love, Haha, Yay, Wow, Sad and Angry emojis as shown in picture below
This means apart from liking, face book users will now be able to express love, laughter, happiness, shock, sadness and anger with a tap or a click.
Testing on these new features has already started in Spain and Ireland and soon you can expect it in the rest of the world, may be later this year.
It was during the last year when facebook users were begging for a dislike button and Mark Zukerberg, the CEO of Facebook said to expect a test soon. He also said, it wouldn’t be a ‘dislike’ button exactly but something that would not lead to a situation where people will down vote a post.
‘Emoji’ was a perfect solution as we can see how facebook users are involved with stickers that they post as a comment on a post. These emoji’s will appear when you long-press or hover the like button.
This feature would be good for brands and advertisers too as they will get to know how people are reacting to their brand, with detailed information like user preferences and interests.
